Incorruptible Body

“But someone may say, ‘How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come back?’”  (1 Corinthians 15:35)

“Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed,  in an instant, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For that which is corruptible must clothe itself with incorruptibility, and that which is mortal must clothe itself with immortality.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-53)

Our imperishable bodies will no longer suffer from sickness and death, nor will they ever be subject to heat and cold or hunger and thirst. Our new bodies will be honorable in that they will not be shamed or shameful because of sin. Our earthly bodies are “weak” in many ways, such as subject to the natural laws of gravity, time and space, and weakened by sin and its temptations. Our glorified bodies won’t be subject to any kind of weakness. Just as our earthly bodies are perfectly suited to life on earth, our incorruptible bodies will also be for life in heaven. We will be glorified with Christ in our incorruptible bodies.

“We will all be changed,” means dead and alive, who are with God or with Satan. The latter, however, will suffer evil effects.

“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)
